In spring and autumn the migration of birds is one of the most spectacular natural phenomenon. Marshes, coasts and wetlands in central and southern Europe become mandatatory places of rest for these birds on their long journeys.
In order to continue they need to recover their strength. Some of these temperate zones even serve as breeding grounds for other birds as they have abundant sources of food.
